This was a logo that was created to support the movement behind creating a skate park in Fortuna, California. A group of community members picked up the idea after the tragedy of two local girls were killed in an accident while skateboarding at dusk. Their names are placed on the tail of the skateboard. Additionally paying homage to these young ladies a female skater grabs her deck as she grinds her trucks on the word “Fortuna.” Force lines streak through the black letters creating motion. A redwood tree replaces the ascender of the letter “P.” An illustration of a landscape of mountains and trees with the sun shining above adorns her helmet.
This illustration was created in Adobe Illustrator using a Wacom Cintiq and incorporates all vector graphics.
